On the Icy Cliffs of Slieve League

The impressive Cliffs of Moher in County Clare gets most of the glory in Ireland but Donegal’s cliffs at Slieve League are 3 times higher.

After this shot was taken I stepped back and realised I’d been standing on iced-over soil – a cause of some concern at around 601 metres (1,972 ft) in a strong wind. Live and learn.

Canon EOS 5D, EF 70-210mm f3.5-4.5 USM. 1/250th, f4.5, 70mm, ISO 50.
